Community and School Gardens
We believe that using community and school gardens greatly benefits our health. Community gardens become places where people of all ages have the opportunity to be physically active, develop community spirit, and most importantly to grow healthy and nutritious food for their families. Likewise, school gardens can be used as an educational resource for a wide range of academic subjects including nutrition and health science. In Maine, gardens have become a significant part of implementing Learning Results in many schools.
